Qinghai Lake
historically known as Kokonor it is a salt lake and with over 4600 km2 the largest lake in China laying at 3,205 m (10,515 feet) above sea level in a depression of the Tibetan Plateau. Twenty-three rivers and streams empty into Qinghai Lake. The names Qinghai and Kokonor both mean "Blue/Teal Sea".

The Lake houses millions of migrating birds in the season, but we only saw their rock covered in guano
On the North-Wst Peninsula
The Park symbolised with a birds-feather
On the North-East side of the lake, we saw some formerly restricted area buildings, most likely labor camps
Lanzhou
Capital of Gansu, only visited to get to the Airport
